The Garrad SP25 is a bullet proof turntable design that is well known for its realiability. The sound of the SP25 is excellent, as there is no rumble noticeable like in other idler driven models. The SP25 has a heavy metal platter and a well designed turntable arm.
This turntable can run at 3 different speeds: 33, 45 and 78rpm. So if you want to indulge into some really old recordings the SP25 got you covered. It is also currently equipped with a ceramic cartridge and a stylus that can be switched between 33/45 and 78rpm records.
It is also an option to upgrade in the future to a high end 33/45 rpm only cartridge which would take this setup to adiophile levels.
The case or plinth of this unit is in excellent condition and just looks amazing in a living room. The abilitiy to have it operating under the fully closed lid is great if you have kids jumping around. Your records are safe with this unit.
Operation is easy – this is a fully automatic turntable. It has been serviced with all mechanical parts lubricated again. This turntable will easily last another 50 years.
