The RT-701 is a 3 head, 3 motor open reel deck from Pioneer. Built in the early 80ties it was an already quite modern deck. It performance goes way beyond the 7″ decks from Akai, TEAC or Sony of that time. With its 3 motor setup and modular design, its easy to service and has also proven to be extremely reliable. The deck can run at two different speed, the slow 3 3/4″ IPS or the fast 7.5″ IPS. There are two different bias settings that can be used for recording and also the pitch can be adjusted, helpful is you are musician.
This deck has been serviced and the oscillator board has been rebuilt to ensure reliable recording. This deck sounds amazings, the heads got very little use and we were impressed by the quality of recordings it is capable of.
This deck comes with the iconic PR-85 metal reel that was also originally included. We provide 6 months warranty.
We also got a matching Pioneer SA-7500 amplifier and a TX-7500 tuner if you are keen to build a Pioneer system. Turntables are available as well.
