An absolutely amazing 3 head cassette deck from SONY. The ES stands for Elevated Standard and online the best of the best Sony devices got this label. No expense was spared to get best possible performance in the ES line across the board and that also applies for the TC-870ES. With its dual capstan setpup it is very similar to some high end Nakamichi decks like the ZX-9. But the Sony also comes with all the convenience features like real time counter, Bias adjustment and title search.
There is no feature that you can wish for, that would be missing in that deck. And it sounds amazing on top of it.
