The X-2000R is the further improved version of the X-1000R. It is capable of holding 6 hours of music on one 10.5″ reel. Thanks to DBX and the excellents heads even at the slow speed to achive this playtime, you will have recordings leaving evering compact cassette deck in the dust. If you want to go “studio grade” with your recordings, switch to the higher speed of 7 1/2 IPS and you still would be able to capture 3 hours of recordings on a 10.5″ reel.
The auto reverse makes playing both sides a breeze. Just apply some sensing tape (available in our shop) at the end of the tape and the X1000R changes direction automatically.
The DBX system can be turned on and off of course. There are other great features like the digital counter with memory function, fully programmable and an Auto Spacer function. Pitch adjust is available right from the front as well and this deck can be calibrated for 3 different tape formulas – switchable from the front.
This particular unit had only one private owner and is in near mint condition. We have serviced this deck obviously, to make it perform at original specifications and the work carried out is very similar did on the X-1000R we recently serviced:
- Disassembly of the machine and complete removal of entire transport mechanism
- Full disassembly of transport mechanism.
- Cleaning of parts, removal of old grease.
- Checking for any wear, lubrication of all parts with lithium grease and PDP65 capstan oil
- Reassembly of transport

Description
The X-2000R incorporates a variety of functions and features including dbx noise reduction, an auto-locator function which is convenient in replay and editing and block-repeat.
To maintain very stable tape motion with optimum tape tension, it uses a full tension servo control system in which a photo-interrupter senses the position of the tension arm so that the servo mechanism can adjust the torque of the reel motor.
This mechanism eliminates the need for manual switching when using different types of reels.
In the design of the electronic circuits the same concepts were applied, especially for the high level recording required by professionals.
