What a beautiful gem out of the late 70ties. These old Akai decks just sound so good and are a pleasure to use and look at. This unit is in very good condition. Only some oxidisation on the record level and playback volume knob.
We did quite a bit of service to this deck and spent a bit over 4 hours on it. Also the top cover got a fresh powder coating.
This deck has received the below service:
- Cleaning of flywheel and motor pulley
- Replacement of Capstan Belt
- Replacement of Counter Belt
- Replacement of Drive Belt
- Replacement of bulbs in VU meters
- Cleaning and treatment of original pinch roller
- Cleaning of capstan with chemical
- Cleaning of heads
- Demagnetisation of head and capstan
- Speed calibration
- Powdercoating of to cover
- Playback level calibration
- Full function test
