Top of the line Hitachi D-E65 3 head cassette deck from 1981. For all who are serious about making their own recording – there is just no way to avoid a 3 head deck. On a 3 head deck it is possible to monitor the actual recording as it is layed down in the tape. On a two head deck you would only be able to monitor the input signal.
The fact that engineers were able to streamline each head (playback / record) for each function, the overall result is a better fidelity and frequency response across the board.
This deck must have seen very little use from its former owner. The heads would pass as new!
This unit has received quite a big service:
- Replacement of Capstan Belt
